June Challenge over at The Crafty Addicts

I've finally found my log in details again so can update my blog... Eventually lol.
Anyways... It's been quiet on the card scene recently... Life has just got in the way and unfortunately, I havent had as much time for crafting. I have even unfortunately had to step down from two of my design teams as I was no longer able to find the time to do projects for all 3 within the time scale needed as well as keeping on top of my usual card orders and, well life really. It was a hard decision choosing which ones to step down from as I loved them all and there were fantastic ladies in all teams. Two of them were run by the same admin so I decided it was easier to just drop those as it would be easier altho they did say whenever I was ready to come back, there was always a place for me. How awesome are they not!
Anyways... The team I still participate in is The Crafty Addicts... I found this one the easiest to keep up to date with where commenting etc was concerned. I really love seeing people's work and think it's really inportant that I do keep up to date and let them know how much I appreciate them participating in challenges and how talented they are as crafters so it made sense that this be the team I stayed on in. I love it as everything's all together and because it's a Facebook page, I can do my job from anywhere seeing as I'm always in Facebook anyways and it's easily accessible.
This months challenge with The Crafty Addicts was 'bling it up!' Definitely one of my favourite themes... I mean, who doesn't like a bit of sparkle lol. Our sponsors for this challenge were the awesome A Day for Daisies  and Morgan's Artworld.
I chose an image from A Day for Daisies called Braid In My Hair. I have seen this image used before by other people in their cards and always loved how amazing it looked. I wasn't actually sure who made the digi but of course when I came across it while searching for the digi I wanted for this challenge, it was a no brainier. It is a beautiful image and so elegant. It's so versatile for women or girls cards. I really don't think you could go wrong with this one.
I coloured my image using pro markers. I only have a few of these but even with my limited colour palette, I really love how she turned out. This is my make...
I used this card as a sweet 16th for my little sister who has gorgeous long hair like this image. Pairing it up with pretty bright papers and a bit of coordinating ribbon really sets it off and the little sprinkle of gems around the girl and also on the sentiment helps with the Bling It Up theme we had for this challenge.
This definitely was a popular challenge with the team as, well... It's bling lol. Pop over and take a look at the amazing projects the team have come up with and why not add your own little blinged up project so we can see your amazing work too. Like I said earlier, I do love looking at others work and see what they come up with. Just click on the blue 'The Crafty Addicts' link above and it will take you to our Facebook page.
Looking forward to commenting on some gorgeousness :).
Until next month...

Mr blogger lol

Oh dear... my blogger has been a naughty boy it seems and not uploaded my last blog lol. I didn't even realise til I came on and saw my last update was 17th Dec and I can remeber putposely coming on to blog at the start of Jan as it had been a while since I uploaded anything... longer now agen lol.
Anyways... I've been making a few Valentines Day cards this last couple of days (and a Design Team one but I can't show it yet :p).
For the Valentines cards, I've been making use of a little taster Art Pad I bought from Lili of The Valley ages ago but that I thought was too cute to use lol. The images are from the 'True Love'  and are the cutest little vintage style people. I paired them with LOTVs 'Country Lady' paper pad and I have to admit... I kinda fell in love with them lol.

A Little Update!

My goodness! I knew I had been a tad absent this last while but I didn't realise it had been so long. Bad Stacey! lol.

Anyways... this last few weeks have been CRAZY!! 2 weeks before Christmas, my little sister was taken into hospital and unfortunately is still there for goodness knows how long. With visiting her and with the usual Christmassy related things we have to do, I have just got messed up with time and schedule keeping. Hence the late blog entries lol.
Anyways, I've had a few DT projects due while I've been away, over at all 3 of the teams I am members of... Where The Heart Is, Crafting For All Seasons and The Crafty Addicts.

For this post, I am only going to show two of my projects. Our DT make for Where The Heart Is Design Team had the theme Anything goes for this challenge with our sponsor being Lacy Sunshine. It was quite hard to pick an image for this one as their images are all fab and with no specific theme, all images were open for choice. I decided on the image Rory - I need my beauty sleep for this one. I thought it a pretty good choice for my mum whose birthday is on the 18th but who has spent pretty much all day every day and night with my little sister at hospital. 5 weeks without a bed is a pretty long time and those nights she did get a bed, it was a hard one which was hard to get comfortable in which reminded me of the fairytale The Princess and The Pea.
Here is my make for my Where The Heart Is DT.

Crafting For All Season's theme for this challenge was Monochrome and we were sponsored by the lovely Bugaboo. I have been eyeing up those Stella images for a LONG time... I love the humour in them so for me, this was a no brainer lol. I chose the image Stella with friends and decided I'd stay along the red tones as the image had 3 friends drinking wine and I though it was the easiest colour to use in a monochromatic card as I could bring in browns etc for the air and orange and pinky reds aswell. I really liked how this card came out considering I was kind of worried about the monochrome.
This is the card I came up with for my Crafting For All Seasons DT make. :). Hope you all like.

Christmas Colours

That time again... therea a new challenge starting over at Where The HeART Is Challenge Blog.
Our sponsor for this challebge was That Craft Place and our theme Christmas Colours. An easy one for this time of year thankfully lol.
The image I chose was 'Big Present' which I coloured using my Spectrum Noirs and the papers are from a set I got free in a mag. For a quick make, I quite like how this ine turned out.
Why not take a pop over to our Challenge blog and join in. Where The HeART Is, is a blog for al types of craft, not just card making (I'm in the card team which is why my projects are all card related). We also have a mixed media team who I have to admit are a very talented bunch. This means thw challenge is open to everyone, so why not come over and join us or even pop by to say hello while having a look at our projects.
Hope to see you there :).

Christmas Card Season.

What a bust week or so I've had. I had actually been debating giving up my card making or at least downsizing my supplies a good bit and then I get LOADS of orders. Tis the season and all that I suppose :).
Hubby was down visiting his mum a day almost a fortnight ago and vame back with a little list of cards she was looking done. They needed done quickly as some were being posted to Australia and last posting date was the start of Dec sometime. For handiness sake, i decided to use my new Tattered Lace dies that I had bought not long before and hadnt used yet. Trying to do 6 cards that were all different proved more difficult than I thought and as these were all being posted, I was asked to make sure they werent bulky... another difficulty as I like my layers and dimension lol.
These were 5he cards I came up with... I actually really liked them (they look better on person) alrhough I think I slughtly misjudged my text size lol. Even so, I was relatively happy with them and my mum in law liked them too so better again lol.
